Posted on November 9, 2011

I shop for great recipes at Allrecipes.com. I love the site because in one glance, I can see if it’s been rated highly and by how many people. This 5 star recipe has over 1000 ratings and it’s simple. So I was sold. I made it for the LSU vs. Alabama game night and for a big meeting at work. It was a HIT!  Now you can wow people with this yummy smelling and tasting seasonal sensation!

5 Star Pumpkin Bread

2 cups canned pumpkin puree
1 cup vegetable oil
2-2/3 cups white sugar
4 eggs
3 cups and 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground cloves

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9×5 inch loaf pans.

In a large bowl, mix together the pumpkin, oil, sugar, and eggs. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves; stir into the pumpkin mixture until well blended. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.

Bake in preheated oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour. The top of the loaf should spring back when lightly pressed.

This makes a great gift for Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you have a favorite recipe you’d like to share, please post the link and why you love it in the comments below.
